| 1. | What is Dog Agility?Dog agility is a competitive sport in which a handler directs his dog over a timed obstacle course, with scoring based on faults. Because of its fast pace and simple, objective scoring system, dog agility has become an exciting spectator sport and an exciting sport for the handlers. |
| |
| 2. | What obstacles are used in Dog Agility? The approved obstacles for dog agility are the A-frame, weave poles, table, pause box, see-saw or teeter, dog walk, cross-over, pipe tunnel, collapsed tunnel, and assorted jumps and hurdles (including the broad jump, tire jump, high jump, bar jump, double bar jump, and spread jump). Note that the heaver equipment, such as the A-frame, table, and pause box we do not sell since your backyard space is usually limited and shipping cost would be high. |

| 3. | How high will my dog have to jump in Dog Agility? The USDAA has adopted two competitive classes, each with two jump heights to permit dogs of all sizes to participate. In the large dog class, dogs measuring more than 21'' at the withers would be required to jump 26'', while those measuring 21'' or less would be required to jump 22''. In the small dog class, dogs 16'' or less but more than 12'' would jump 16'' while all dogs measuring 12'' or less would jump 12''. Also, there is a program defined as "Performance," wherein the dog can jump one height lower. Jump heights are reduced to 8", 12", 16" and 22", as compared to heights of 12", 16", 22" and 26" in the Championship Program. |

| 4. | Is Dog Agility limited to certain types or sizes of Dogs? The herding breeds (border collies, shelties, australian shepherds, corgis) seem to have a natural instinct for the sport and do very well in competition. However, all breeds are encouraged to participate as well as mixed breeds, as long as they are healthy and in good shape. As you can see from the picture on our home page our Dachshunds love the sport. |
| |
| 5. | Why are most of your items described as “practice” items? We feel that you should not have to pay for competition quality Dog Agility equipment just to use in your backyard. For years we did not purchase Dog Agility equipment for our dogs because of the cost. Thus the idea of offering practice quality equipment at a reasonable price. |
| |
| 6. | Why are some obstacles called “contact” obstacles?Three of the obstacles in Dog Agility are called contact obstacles. Most dogs at first try to jump off the obstacle before the end but the object in a Dog Agility contact obstacle is for the dog to touch the yellow end (thus the term contact obstacle) then step off. |
| |
| 7. | How do You ship?In most cases the items ship UPS, but a few items are sent by Post Office/Priority Mail. International shipments (as well as Hawaii and Alaska) are usually shipped by Parcel Post. |
| |
| 8. | Do you ship Internationally as well as to Hawaii and Alaska?Yes, but please be sure to contact us prior to an International shipment (as well as Hawaii and Alaska) so than we can send you an exact shipping quote. |
| |
| 9. | Why do we offer No Shipping Costs? Our customers tell us that they like to know the entire item cost up front, shipping and otherwise. They wish to use it to make their descision to buy. They do not like to see a low product cost and obtain a negative suprise when they get to the shopping cart. |
| |
| 10. | Why do you sell some obstacles un-assembled?To save you our customer shipping costs, since the heavier items are readily available from a local retailer why should you as the customer have to pay extra. We offere free shipping, but we could not if heavier items were included. |
